Wales Photography Workshop

This weekend trip was developed in order to develop photographic skills in a range of different situations. It included tuition on macro, portrait, B&W and landscape photography. It was a fantastic success and one we are hoping to repeat.

Father Christmas Photoshoot

It really has been a very busy last 6 weeks, which has included a very busy day with Father Christmas (over 300 children photographed). It was entertaining to see the mixed reactions! 

Christmas Portrait shoot

A couple of images taken on 9th November. This was a fantastic day taking wonderful photos of local families at Peek-a-brew, Leyland. This was so popular that we are planning to hold another event in the spring. Thank you for all those involved.

West coast USA

I can't believe what a busy October/November it has been! After sorting through hundreds of photos I have finally got round to editing a few images from the USA. Travelling around 2500 miles allowed us to see enormous variations in the landscape. Starting at San Francisco we then headed through Yosemite, Death Valley, Las Vegas, Zion Canyon, Grand Canyon and finally on to L.A. Below are a few of my favourite moody landscapes;

Sally and Mark's wedding

Here are a few photos from Sally and Mark's wedding. This was a lovely wedding with amazing weather throughout. Thanks to the best man who was a superstar rounding all the guests up. In summary; vintage bus + gorgeous cake + lovely couple = incredible day.

A couple of castles

I think this will be my last landscape posting for a while, I'm all castled out! These are classic views of Alnwick and Lindisfarne castles.

Sunset over Bamburgh Castle

I've already posted a sunrise so now it's time for a sunset at the same location. I much preferred this as it did not require the use of an alarm clock!

Holiday sunrise

Awoke at 4.30am to capture the sunrise over Bamburgh castle - what a way to spend a holiday! It was not quite as dramatic as the weather forecast predicted, but still well worth the early get up. I think I will focus on sunsets for the rest of the week!

Peek-a-brew

Here are a very small selection of product photographs from the new Peek-a-brew cafe that were taken last week. The cafe opened for the first time today. I can vouch for the superb coffee served here.

Vampire Portrait

A 'weird and wonderful' image created for international exhibition. It's a bit like Twilight meets the North West; Worden Park, Rivington Pike, and Tatton Park are all in here. Comments so far prove it to be a Marmite image.

Engagement Photographs

Here are a couple of 'engagement shoot' photographs of Mark and Rebecca due to get married in May. The venue is the lovely Woodborough Hall near Nottingham. This is a superb venue used almost exclusively for weddings.

This photograph is entitled 'passage of time'. It is a father and son combination portrait. It will be used in photographic competitions and as a demonstration image in my Photoshop lessons. Comments welcome.

Speed of light @ Salford Quays
